hd SUB Series

The hd Sub12 is a very compact, easy to carry and powerful subwoofer in bass reflex tuning. The specially designed 12″ long excursion chassis with 3″ voice coil and single surround allows a large linear excursion. Through a ventilation at the pole core, the heat development of the coil is optimally dissipated. Therefore, a high continuous power handling capacity of 400W / 800W is possible. The lower heat development also means increased reliability and reduced thermal stress on the voice coil. Excellent dynamics and dry bass reproduction at incredible pressure is the result. The necessary filtering is done by Harmonic Design system amplifiers. With active crossover of 24 dB/octave up to max. 160 Hz ensures the best possible transitions between subwoofer and top speaker.

The enclosure is made of high-quality multiplex wood and painted scratch, impact and weather resistant with a fine textured finish. Two ergonomic transport handles on the top ensure a light handling. The front of the loudspeaker is protected by a rustproof, coated steel grille with internally glued acoustic foam. An M20 threaded insert on the top of the case allows to carry a distance rod. In addition, four abrasion-resistant rubber feet on the underside ensure a secure footing. The recessed rear panel has two NL4 Speakon jacks and is used to connect and route the input signal to other speakers. The enclosure is available on request in RAL colors and as an installation version without handles and M20 thread.

Operation is as a slave subwoofer on the active hd P12stereo system subwoofer or on all Harmonic Design system amplifiers to ensure reliable and accurate low-frequency reproduction.

The hd Sub15 is a compact, easy to carry and powerful subwoofer in bass reflex tuning. The specially developed 15″ long excursion chassis with 4″ voice coil on fiberglass carrier allows a excursion of ±15 mm. Through a ventilation at the pole piece and at the spider the heat development of the coil is optimally dissipated. Therefore, an extremely high continuous power handling capacity of 1000 W / 4000 W is possible. The lower heat development also means increased reliability and reduced thermal stress on the voice coil. Excellent dynamics and dry bass reproduction at incredible pressure is the result. The filtering is done by Harmonic Design DSP amplifiers. With active crossover of 24 dB/octave up to max. 160 Hz, best possible transitions between LF and HF are achieved.

The housing made of multiplex wood is coated with a polyurea plastic coating scratch, impact and weather resistant and equipped with two transport handles. The front of the loudspeaker is protected by a rustproof, coated steel grille with internally glued acoustic foam. In addition, four abrasion-resistant rubber feet on the underside and the associated cutouts on top provide for a secure stacking of the same enclosure. On the back there is a recessed connection field with two SpeakCON NL4 sockets for connection via pin 2+/2- and forwarding of the input signal. An M20 threaded insert on the top allows the mounting of a distance rod.

The hd Sub18 is a compact, easy to carry and powerful subwoofer in bass reflex tuning. The specially developed 18″ long excursion chassis with 5″ voice coil on fiberglass carrier and neodymium magnet system allows a linear excursion of 30 mm. Through a ventilation at the pole piece and at the spider the heat development of the coil is optimally dissipated. Therefore, an extremely high continuous power handling capacity of 1800W / 7200W (AES / peak) is possible. The lower heat development also means increased reliability and reduced thermal stress on the voice coil. Excellent dynamics and dry bass reproduction at incredible pressure is the result. The filtering is done by Harmonic Design DSP amplifiers. With active crossover of 24 dB/octave up to max. 160 Hz, best possible transitions between LF and HF are achieved.

The enclosure is made of multiplex wood and provided with a shock and weather-resistant polyurethane coating. The front of the speaker is a stable front grille with
internal acoustic foam. Generously dimensioned transport handles are integrated into the side walls. On the back there are inlet threads for attaching hd SilentWheels, the acoustically decoupled 100 mm hd SilentWheels, as well as a recessed connection panel with two NL4 sockets for connection via pin 2+/2- and forwarding of the input signal. The hd Sub21 is a passive high-performance subwoofer equipped with a 21“ neodymium woofer chassis of the latest generation with bass reflex tuning for medium to large sound reinforcement applications. The specially developed loudspeaker chassis, which achieves extremely high sound pressure and resilience thanks to its innovative design, sets new standards in the ratio of size to performance in mobile or permanently installed applications.

Its excellent impulse behavior and fast response are unique for a 21“ subwoofer and make it a universally applicable and linear subwoofer with brutal depth. Compared to the most powerful direct radiator to date, the hd Sub18, the Sub21 is able to generate more than 15 dBSPL more in the low frequency range below 35 Hz and is therefore aimed at users who need pressure and headroom even in the lowest octave. Ports optimized with CFD flow ensure silent operation even at maximum load.

At just under 60 kg, the compact housing is also quite handy. An M20 threaded insert on the top of the housing allows a spacer rod to be accommodated. In addition, four abrasion-resistant rubber feet on the underside and the associated cutouts on top provide for a secure stacking of the same enclosure. The hd Infra212 is a high-performance subwoofer with a hybrid enclosure design for the reproduction of extended low frequencies below 34 Hz. Compact dimensions and exceptional power reserves combined with minimal distortion make the hd Infra212 a modern yet flexible tool for large-scale touring and installation applications requiring extreme low- end, high SPL and great control over dispersion. The optimally tuned, vented, hybrid horn-loaded cabinet houses two special long-excursion 12” cone drivers with 4” voice coils.

A large, air flow-optimized center reflex port allows excellent air excitation with minimal turbulence and distortion. The transmission range from 34 Hz to 120 Hz makes the Infra212 the perfect bass extension for all Harmonic Design speakers. Thanks to its long throw, high efficiency and passive directivity pattern, the hd Infra212 can be optimally integrated into LineArray applications with HybridLineSource loudspeakers hd HLS20 and hd HLS24.

Compact dimensions and exceptional power reserves combined with minimal distortion make the hd Infra218 a modern and flexible tool for touring and installation applications requiring extreme low-frequency sound pressure and maximum control over dispersion. The optimally tuned, horn-shaped multiplex enclosure with bass reflex tuning accommodates two special 18″N high-performance chassis with a linear stroke of 30 mm and a load capacity of 14.4 kW. A large, air flow-optimized center reflex port allows excellent air excitation with minimal turbulence and distortion. Two special 21“N high-performance chassis of the latest generation with 40 mm linear excursion and a power handling capacity of 14,400 W are housed in an optimally tuned, highly rigid multiplex housing in horn construction with bass reflex tuning.

Its excellent impulse fidelity and fast response are unique for a double 21“ subwoofer and make it a universally applicable and linear subwoofer with brutal depth. A large, CFD flow-optimized bass reflex channel in the middle ensures excellent stimulation of the air with minimal turbulence and the associated distortions – even at maximum load. Thanks to the long throw, high efficiency and passive directional characteristics, the hd Infra221 can be optimally integrated into large sound systems. The acoustic design allows it to be combined with all Harmonic Design tops and, as an infra extension, with all subwoofers.
